My Story

When Google came knocking between 2013 and 2015, grabbing me for their Trusted Photography Program, that's when things really took off. Post-Google? No way I was going to just kick back. I cranked it up, building my own dominions – DHPixels and CommercialPhotoVideo.com. We're talking major league players in Chicago’s product photography game. But here's the twist – since 2016, my lens has been all about the delicious chaos of food photography. I've been in the trenches, capturing over 1,700 restaurants in Chicago, working with big shots like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. From the high energy of food trucks to the classy vibes of Michelin-starred places, each click wasn't just about getting the perfect shot; it was storytelling, making those mouth-watering dishes jump right off the photo. And hey, it's not just food. I've been side-hustling with Lawson Products, nailing over 10,000 tool shots in the last eight years. This gig? It's about bringing those inanimate hunks of metal to life, showing off each tool's edge and character. Throughout this whole ride, one thing's been constant – the lessons from my adoptive folks. Dream big, hustle hard, and never see a ceiling. That's the playbook I'm living and passing down to my kids.

Where Eye Care Meets Style
Working with OPT Vision Studio and Dr. Gabrielle was one of those shoots where everything just flowed, good people, clean space, no stress. Not your typical eye doctor vibe either. We were focused on capturing the feel of the place while showing what they actually do day to day. They’ve got everything dialed in, full eye exams, advanced retinal imaging, contact lenses, kids exams, even vision therapy. Real-deal care, backed by solid tech, but still super personal. The whole team leaned into...

Let the Kids Run the Kitchen. Gail Street inn Kids Commercial
This one was fun. But it started with real prep. We spent time finding the right kid to play the lead chef. That mattered. We went through multiple script revisions before landing on the version you see now. Tone had to be confident, a little sharp, but still playful. Once the script was locked, we built the shot list and storyboard. That part is always one of my favorites. When you know exactly what you are walking into, the day runs smoother. Less guessing. More executing. We sourced our...

A Day in Wicker Park with Reside Home Loans
Chicago commercial video production, culture films, and brand storytelling Producing a strong commercial is never about showing up with a camera and hitting record. For this Wicker Park project with Reside Home Loans, the work began long before I walked into the space. We spent time reviewing photos of the office, talking through the layout, and holding multiple conversations about the goals of the shoot. I wanted to understand not only what the team wanted to say, but how they wanted people...
